Oytun Ersan

Oytun Ersan (born June 22, 1978) is a Turkish Cypriot electric bass and upright bass player, composer and recording artist. He is the founder of Oytun Ersan Project, a Jazz Fusion band which features some special guests like Wycliffe Gordon on trombone, Prof. Rex Richardson on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Okan Ersan on electric guitar.
== Early life and education ==

Oytun Ersan joined the International Nicosia Municipality Orchestra as a musician at the age of 15 where he continues to work today. He graduated from Eastern Mediterranean University Music Department in 2002. He then gained his MA degree in Special Education from the Near East University in North Cyprus. Ersan has successfully completed the Instrumental Conducting Course Masterclass run by Prof. Peter Stark from the Royal College of Music in July 2014. He has also received one-on-one training from Joe Hubbard who also taught world famous bass players such as Pino Palladino, Paul Turner (Jamiroquai), Mike Mondsir (Billy Cobham) and Dave Swift (Jools Holland).
